Drachen nodded and began to smell the wolves on the horizon. She was right they'd be perfect for a decoy. He couldn't wait to catch them.

The wolves finally made their move. The deer where in chaos as they tried to run from the wolves. Shea didn't waste a second. She tore off running towards the deer and changed into a dragon. Flyiing fast and using her stench she spread the caused the deer to split up and run in different directions. "Grab that straggler," she told Drachen nodding her towards an elder who was falling behind some of the others. Once he had grabbed the deer with his paws they began to fly towards Mayra's house at a slow but steady speed.

Drachen moved quickly with Shea and once she told him to grab the prey he did so and easily flew to Mayra's house dropping the prey at the front door.
she came out rather surprised to see both hunting together since neither one showed up as they always did every morning. "You both did well," she commented.

"Whatever," Shea muttered a little harshly. "I won't be by for supper. Got some things I need to take care of before the sun sets tonight. I'll see you tomorrow morning for coffee like usual." At that she turned around and changed into an eagle. She flew fast to her tree and curled up into a ball on her moss bed with her back facing the entrance. Tears were trickling down her face. It had been forever and a day since the last time she had ever cried. Furiously wipping the tears away she stared at the wall in complete silence.

Mayra was utterly confused and looked at Drachen who was scratching his head. "What's-," she began but Drachen just walked into the house finding his things and quickly taking them with him. Elvron saw him about to leave but grabbed his arm. "Dude, you okay," he asked.
Drachen sighed and looked away. "I have to defend my kingdom and look after it until the North leaves it alone. But if doing so means I have to leave behind the greatest treasure than I must for her." He began to head outside and finally shifted into a dragon carrying his things as he passed her home. He growled and roared an agony sound.

Shea heard his roar and instantly left her home. Flying fast she changed in dragon form she caught up to him. "I love you," she said rubbing her muzzle against his. Her eyes were filled with the same sadness that were in his. "Promise that you will come back to me alive and safe. I don't want another letter saying that you were badly wounded or worse, dead......"

Drachen paused smelling Shea's scent nearing. He looked to see her in dragon form as she rubbed her muzzle to his. "I love you, Shea and I shall come back a changed man after this war. I shall come back alive and maybe even king to my kingdom." He looked away hoping his parents wouldn't die but he knew their end was soon. "I must bide farewell now. Be safe my love and always know the water keeps me close to you always." He began to fly away feeling one drop of his tears fall below.

Shea watched him disappear out of sight as the sun continued its treck across the sky. She would miss him fiercely and she knew he'd do anything he could to return to her. With that in mind she returned to her tree home and curled up into a ball once more after shutting the vines. At the moment she was not hungry. Her sadness rid her of all things. Eventually she ended up crying herself to sleep. "Drachen," she whispered softly in her sleep.

Drachen finally reached his home only to find that it was in full recovery. Soon the kingdom would be back to its old self but he knew that wasn't true. The North would strike again and he had to prevent it and protect his kingdom with his life if he had too.
The North had attacked a few days later, but luckily Drachen had prepared his men so their surprise attack failed. After a long battle that took about a week the North finally gave in and Drachen was glad. He had a smile on his face, but it soon fell when he realized his one brother was not among those celebrating and Ulak was quieter than normal. He even saw his parents weren't around either and his anger boiled as his sadness took over. Once he was in his room alone he struck the wall with his fist in anger leaving a huge dent. He would have to return to Shea soon. He never stopped thinking of her over the days. It was the only thing that kept him alive and worth living for other than his kingdom.

Shea continued with her life, following her normal routine. She went to Mayra's house for coffee. After that she either went hunting or patroled her woods. If someone tried to talk to her about Drachen or about how she was acting a little differently than normal she would change the subject or just leave without saying another word. She truely missed Drache. She hoped he'd return soon. Somewhere in her heart she knew was okay but that did not stop her from worrying about him. At night when she slept she dreamed of his scent and how warm his embrace was. In her mind she replayed the events the night before he left. She wished she could return to that moment in time. Tears would fall every time she thought about it. With tears meant crying herself to sleep. On those nights, she wished he was there with her even more.

Drachen finally decided it was time for his leave, but he knew he'd have to return to his brothers aid quickly. Ulak was a good lad, but ever since the war he was more distant and even feared for Drachen wherever he went even if it was simply to go to the bathroom. He reassured his brother and shifted into a dragon taking flight and as he got closer to Shea's woods he roared in pleading and desperation that she'd come.

Shea heard Drachen's distant roar from Mayra's house. She was in the middle of drinking her daily coffee and when she heard him. She set the mug down carefully still half full and raced outside and through the woods. Without hesitating she shifter forms into her dragon form. Her wings were pumping fast as she flew through the sky. "Drachen," she cried finally spotting him at last. She picked up her speed until she was able to rub her muzzle against his. "I missed you so much," she whispered closing her eyes and taking in his scent. "I'm so happy to see you even if its for just a short time."

Drachen smiled seeing Shea. "I came as fast I could. Sadly I can't stay long and I am afraid life in my kingdom won't be the same till my people get used to me and my rule. I missed you a lot but your thoughts kept me alive a lot." He looked at his scar on his chest. "Sadly my wound here from the last battle reopened but I'll be fine." He rubbed into her.

"I can rest easier now that I now you are alright," Shea sighed rubbing her head under his chin. "You must be tired after your flight. Come to my home and rest."

Drachen nodded giving in. He followed after her and shifted to human once they neared her house. Luckily nothing had changed here. "I take it you were well while I was away?"
