"There might be some wild flowers deeper into the forest but I'm not sure if it's okay to take you that far," Shea said thoughtfully. She stared off into the deepest parts of the forest. There was a breeding ground that way and she knew it was breeding season. "I'll have to ask the old geyser," she sighed.

Shea set a brisk pace. The quicker they ask, the sooner they can leave. It didn't take them long to reach the cliff. She whistled loudly and waited as the sound echoed. "It won't be long now," she said. "He has to run far. Vanessa, please don't tell your father bout him. He doesn't want them to notice him as he hides here. Plus, he's bout to move on to his next life."

"He's here," Shea muttered stepping between veranda and Vanessa and the forest. She could see a dark shape moving around. "Let me do all the talking." Then she bowed her head slightly as a large grey wolf stepped out of the forest.

The wolf growled at her dangerously. "Why did you summon me," it demanded. "And why would you show me to outsiders?" "Please allow them to go deeper into the forest with me," Shea said calmly. "We need wild flowers and I wanted to know if it's all right for them to go near the breeding grounds."

"why when they are being rude," the wolf snapped. "Quit being an old fart," Shea growled. From no where she pulled out a a fat squirrel. The wolf stared at it hungrily. "Give permission and this is yours."

Veranda knew they weren't being rude. Vanessa was just partly scared and one day she would be like her father. Strong than even her.

"How long do you think you can keep bribing me with food," the old wolf growled snatching it away and sitting down. "Until the day I die I guess," Shea shrugged she sat down in front of him. She turned her head and said, "It's alright now. He won't bite. Come and sit. This might take a while."
